What will I learn?

This four-year Master of Engineering (MEng) Aeronautical Engineering course combines our BEng (Hons) Aeronautical Engineering degree with Masters-level material. It allows you to further distinguish yourself with an advanced set of professional and technical skills and removes the need to source further funding to study a Masters-level qualification.On completion of the Aeronautical Engineering course, you will be better placed to compete in the graduate jobs market and enter more demanding and rewarding roles. The MEng Aeronautical Engineering programme is also ideal if you want to become a registered Chartered Engineer as it meets the Engineering Council’s educational requirements to gain Chartered Engineer (CEng) status – the highest standard within the industry.Aeronautical engineers apply their knowledge and skills to every aspect of air vehicles; from design, development, manufacture, flight testing and certification, to preserving airworthiness and sustainable aircraft operations. You’ll study the engineering principles needed for a career in the aerospace industry, and you’ll gain practical experience on campus in our state-of-the-art Aerospace Centre.Weather permitting, you’ll also take to the skies with flight test lessons in your final year. Work placements and experience are strongly endorsed to complement your studies, along with visits to sites such as GE Aviation Wales, Airbus Filton, and British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC).The Aeronautical Engineering programme is based at Treforest. Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants who have passed the High School Graduation Diploma with a grade lower than B can be considered for entry to our Foundation Years. Applicants who have passed the High School Graduation Diploma with a grade B average or above and have a SAT combined score of 1100 or above (550+ in each test) – Applicants who sat the SAT previous to 2016 will require a combined score of 1670+ can be considered for entry to the first year of the degree Applicants who have passed the High School Graduation Diploma with a grade B average or above and have an ACT (American College Test) score of 23 or above can be considered for entry to the first year of the degree Applicants who have passed the High School Graduation Diploma with a grade B average or above and have an Advanced Placement Tests with grade 3 and above in at least 3 relevant Group A, AP subjects can gain entry to the first year of the degree Applicants who have successfully completed a 2 year Associate Degree of Professional Diploma at an institution such as a community college can be considered for advanced entry to the 2nd year of a relevant degree programme. IELTS with an average overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component for undergraduate study.
