What will I learn?

Our biotechnology with enterprise degree is a unique offering in partnership with our Business School. It provides both a strong understanding of biotechnology and the essentials of business, enterprise and entrepreneurship. You don’t need prior knowledge of business or enterprise for this course.You’ll develop an in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of applied cellular and molecular life sciences, together with the entrepreneurial skills to turn your ideas into reality.If you aim to become a research scientist, our integrated Masters offers an additional year of specialist training to equip you for a PhD, alongside advanced enterprise topics.You will be able to make an impact with this degree as biotechnology with enterprise allows us to tackle many global challenges, such as maintaining food security, designing biofuels and developing new medical treatments. This exciting and innovative programme will teach you the processes needed to take a product from laboratory bench to the marketplace, ensuring that scientific research in biosciences has a practical impact in the world.**Course highlights:**- Gain extensive hands-on experience in the laboratory through weekly practical classes, with the option to experience working in a research lab in your final year.- Become part of the University student enterprise community, offering you opportunities to network with entrepreneurs.- Start your own business with support from Spark.- Research-led advanced topic modules in your final year cover specialist topics in cell and molecular biology exposing you to the latest techniques and cutting edge research.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants will be required to achieve a minimum of 3 subjects in Advanced Placement (AP) or SATS with grades ranging between 4 and 5 or 650 and 750. Subject specific requirements will still apply. Combinations of APs and SATS are welcomed, however where there is a Mathematics A-level requirement, applicants are advised that AP Calculus BC will be required. SATR 1650 (550 in all 3 components) (old scores) Or SATR 1290 (650 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 620 in Maths) (new scores) Or ACT 26 in English. Minimum qualifications include: IELTS (International English Language Testing System) an overall band of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component skill.
