Key informationHow do diseases spread, and how can we protect communities? Understanding infection and immunity is key to saving lives. This course explores pathogenesis, virulence mechanisms, and the science behind vaccines, antibiotics, and immunotherapy. Gain the skills to combat global health challenges and develop life-saving treatments. You'll learn from experts in all aspects of the physiology, molecular biology, immunology and diagnostics of infectious diseases.You will get advanced training in biomedical research, helping you interpret data and develop key technical skills, including tissue culture, flow cytometry, gene cloning, microbiological techniques, and clinical specimen handling.You'll also build specialist knowledge in clinical biomedical research, learning how to conduct studies in a clinical setting and apply strategies to improve healthcare practices.

Entry requirements

For international students

You should have or be expected to achieve, a minimum of a second class degree (2:2). For healthcare graduates, a pass is required. All degrees must be awarded before 1 August on the year of entry.

We welcome applications from individuals from a range of backgrounds, including humanities, science and healthcare.
