What will I learn?

BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass (with Integrated Foundation Year and Professional Practice Year) is a five year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your creativity before you embark on year one of a degree. Your fourth academic year would then include a year in industry placement.Our BA (Hons) Ceramics & Glass course at UCA Farnham offers you the chance to study ceramics and glass in the heart of a town with World Craft Town status, where you’ll benefit from UCA’s extensive craft expertise.You will discover how to blow glass, use the hot glass workshop, and create beautiful ceramic pieces using techniques such as wheel-throwing and kiln-firing.The course embraces diverse approaches to craft, supporting you to explore all methods of ceramics and glasswork, including traditional and contemporary practices. You’ll have the opportunity to experience materials and processes across both disciplines while focusing on your chosen specialisms.Along the way, you will gain the confidence, knowledge and experience you need to take the next steps in your career, whether that means setting up your own studio and independent brand, or joining an established studio and working with others.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students need to have one of the following: US High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 or better, plus SAT scores (if taken in 2016 or later) of 1160 or better; US High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 or better, plus SAT scores (if taken before 2016) of 1600 or better; US High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 or better, plus two or three Advanced Placement tests with scores of 3 or better; US High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 or better, plus ACT scores of 24 or better; US Associates Degree; a transcript showing completion of one year of a Bachelor's degree from a recognised American university.
