What will I learn?

Chemistry is part of everything in our lives – it’s the key to understanding our world, and this course will equip you with the skills and experience for a wide range of exciting and rewarding careers in a variety of industries.Our BSc Chemistry degree will develop your practical skills as well as your theoretical comprehension and you will have plenty of time in the lab carrying out experiments. In your first year you will undertake a ‘Chemical Thinking’ module to prepare you for university study. You will then gain a broad knowledge of organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, theoretical chemistry and biochemistry and project-based practical work in all your core modules.The BSc Chemistry course will develop both your theoretical and practical skills, including lab classes that incorporate a blended, e-learning pre-lab workshop to ensure that you are confident and competent to work in the labs safely and efficiently.Our chemistry graduates are set on course for a range of stimulating opportunities. You might find your career lies in any of the following fields.This degree is also offered as a four-year course, with a year in industry or with a year abroad.
