What will I learn?

Course description

Through hands-on teaching and access to the most advanced technologies available, this course aims to prepare you for employment in biomedical industries, in regulatory agencies, in new companies offering in silico medicine services and in research hospitals all over the world.

Europe’s largest in silico research institute

The Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine is a collaborative initiative between the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It coordinates 140 academics and clinicians from various disciplines who collaborate to improve health outcomes.

Only the most outstanding candidates will be accepted onto this unique course. The small cohort will be integrated within Insigneo’s world-leading research groups, creating a community of experts in this exciting new field.

There may also be the opportunity to progress onto the Insigneo in silico PhD programme.

Teaching

Teaching takes place through group work, project work, lab practicals/reports and presentations.

Assessment

You’ll be assessed by a variety of practical and written assessments, and examinations.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students who hold a good undergraduate four year bachelor degree and high grades in relevant individual subjects from an accredited university or college in the USA will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes. For entry to MBA students need a good four year bachelor degree from an accredited university or college in the USA and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience. They must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts. Students with a lower GPA and considerable work experience may be considered. Postgraduate applicants are required to achieve a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

For international students

IELTS overall grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or equivalent.
