This new MSc is an extension of our MSc Computer Modelling and Finite Elements in Engineering Mechanics and includes a second year allowing you to undertake either an industry placement or an industry-focused project with an industrial partner.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students need to have: Bachelor with CGPA 3.7 (out of 4.0) is comparable to UK 1st Class; Bachelor with CGPA 3.2 (out of 4.0) is comparable to UK 2.1 standard; Bachelor with CGPA 2.6 (out of 4.0) is comparable to UK 2.2 standard. IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each part of the test (or equivalent).

For international students

Usually the entry requirements for the MSc Computer Modelling and Finite Elements in Engineering Mechanics with Industry course is a 2:1 honours degree (or above) in Engineering, Mathematics, or similar relevant science discipline. You will also need to have an overall mark of at least 55%, however performance in key modules will also be considered. If English is not your first language you will need an acceptable pass in an approved English Language qualification to make sure you get the full benefit from studying at Swansea. We consider a wide range of qualifications, including the Swansea University English Test, the British Council IELTS test (with a score of at least 6.5 and 5.5 in each component).
