What will I learn?

In the digitally connected world, companies are reliant on their information networks for critical storage, distribution and processing. These networks need constant maintenance to keep them operational, resilient and efficient – this is where you come in.At Staffordshire University, we’ll give you the skills that you need to progress in your future career as a network specialist. These skills aren’t limited to practical skills either, we include an in-depth theoretical knowledge of security policies and mitigation techniques, to ensure you are always one step ahead of the game. We'll prepare you for your Cisco CCNP qualification, as well as giving you opportunities to network with our contacts and guest speakers from our industry partners and collaborators. Many of these offer work shadowing or short work experience opportunities where you will be able to enhance your employability, which may lead to further graduate prospects.After completing the Computer Networks and Security MSc, you’ll be equipped to work in the following roles:Network security specialist, Network security analyst, Network consultant, Network infrastructure engineer, Network security operations

Entry requirements

For international students

An undergraduate honours degree (grade 2.2 or above in a related computing discipline, Telecommunications or electronics/communications from a UK University or the international equivalent. If you do not meet the above but have significant appropriate experience, your application will be considered, provided that you satisfy the University that you are capable of responding to the challenge of postgraduate work.
