What will I learn?

If you are finding it hard to decide between two subjects you enjoy, you could tailor your degree with a combined honours course. Variety, flexibility and a chance to maximise your employability are just some of the advantages on offer when you choose to study a combined honours degree. And Canterbury Christ Church University offers one of the widest selection of combined honours degrees in the UK.**Early Childhood Studies**The development and growth of children during their early childhood is extraordinary as they grow from babies, completely dependent on care, to children able to act for themselves. This course explores the extraordinary time in children's lives from before birth to approximately eight years old. We examine the factors and experiences that shape their early development and growth. We look at early childhood from a range of perspectives - including psychology, education, health, sociology, law and science - so that you will be well placed to act as an advocate for young children within a range of professional disciplines upon graduation. As part of the course our students are offered opportunities to consider cultural differences in early childhood development. They are also offered practice-based experiences so they can observe in practice how professionals can impact on how young children develop and grow.**Sport & Exercise Psychology**Your chance to explore the science between sport, exercise and psychology starts here. This course offers you the chance to study psychology and how it applies to sport and exercise in combination with another subject of your choice. Guided by a dedicated team of research-active staff, you'll explore a range of themes and relate them to the unique environments of sport and exercise. You'll also be able to explore the application of these themes in real situations, in an attempt to explain, predict and modify human behaviour.
