What will I learn?

Our MEng Electrical Engineering degree can also be taken with an additional year in industry. The year in industry is taken after Year 2 or Year 3 and is assessed by academics and industry experts. This can be a great way to give you a competitive edge among graduate recruiters by showing you can relate your academic skills and knowledge to contemporary industrial practice.This highly technical five-year MEng Electrical Engineering degree with industrial studies builds on the BEng programme. You'll develop the cross-disciplinary skills needed to tackle diverse advanced engineering topics from bionanotechnology through to high voltage engineering. We will provide you with the analytical skills to design and develop the technology of tomorrow using our outstanding experimental facilities, including our high-voltage laboratory. Individual project work with one of our research groups will allow you to work at the frontier of knowledge.Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Southampton has consistently ranked in the UK top 5 over recent years (Guardian University Guide, Complete University Guide and The Times and Sunday Times).
