Explore a diverse range of literary works from different cultures and historical periods as well as film and visual media texts through the study of English Literature and Film Studies. Throughout this programme you will develop as a reader, writer and critic and investigate various issues, such as representations of gender, race and sexuality, and the politics and economics of the global entertainment industry. This combined honours programme examines literature in English from across the world, including Britain, North America and Africa, taking a truly global perspective. You will gain the knowledge and skills to contribute to some of the most crucial debates of our time regarding such issues as decolonisation, sustainability and the environment, gender and sexuality, and political extremism.Taught by expert lecturers in the School of Humanities, you will explore and interpret literary texts that will challenge your views, advance your tastes, prompt your creativity, and give you the opportunity to become a versatile graduate. Through a range of activities and assessments, this diverse course will equip you with a vast array of attributes that employers are looking for, including problem solving, creativity, emotional intelligence, and digital literacy.Film Studies at Keele allows you to delve deep into the theoretical analysis of film from both historical and contemporary perspectives, identifying key debates in contemporary screen media, and analysing a broad range of film and television texts from the widest cultural contexts. Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students need to have a 3 APs (grade 5=A; 4=B, 3=C) OR 3 SAT Subject Tests (SAT II) (600= A/B; 550=C) OR a combination of SAT Subject Tests/ AP's/ ACT composite score 26 (totalling 3). Students need to have an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent with no subtest score below 5.5.
