Overview
Across the globe, entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs are making strong contributions to national economies. As a result, government and business are investing heavily in enterprise and innovation.
This Master’s degree aims to develop the entrepreneurial and enterprising skills required to increase your confidence and know-how in generating, implementing and managing new ideas in uncertain and changing contexts. Key to this is the ‘entrepreneurial mind-set’: our aim is to forge an inquisitive and creative mind, where you should learn entrepreneurship through the lenses of disruption, growth and scaling, and sustainability. This focus aims to go beyond traditional ideas of entrepreneurship to include social entrepreneurship, global enterprise and transnational entrepreneurship, gender-based rethinking of the entrepreneurial paradigm, and more.
Course information
This Master’s degree course aims to provide an insight into a different type of enterprise. It offers you the opportunity to learn creative theory and practical skills that you might need to succeed in modern business.
Enterprise and innovation are very much about a mind-set and an approach, so you be encouraged to spend a lot of time honing these skills with your fellow students who could come from all over the world. You might explore potential areas of venture creation within an organisation, as well as freelance and management consultancy and ‘intrapreneurship’ within large corporations and public-sector organisations.
The course examines the various stakeholders in innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship, and different types and sources of funding. You’ll have the chance to explore a variety of start-up models and analyse the opportunities that they present. You can learn to solve real business problems and consider how firms might add new innovations to their offering.
This full-time master’s degree course is offered over three terms as standard, or over five terms if you choose to do the Extended Professional Practice.
