What will I learn?

The growing changes affecting the natural environment, and the increasing role of environmental policies affecting businesses and organisations are creating new and challenging career opportunities for those familiar with issues of sustainable development, planning and environmental protection and management.The BSc in Environmental Management with Professional Studies explores the physical, social, economic and cultural aspects of environmental management. It combines aspects of science, geography and environmental planning with an environmental work placement to understand the environmental systems in which we live and work.Students will be enabled to understand; issues of sustainable development, conservation and environmental protection and management, the integrated and holistic nature of environmental management and how to devise, manage and critically evaluate project work.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Generally, applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for direct entry to our undergraduate Bachelor degree programmes: A US High School Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 PLUS. An ACT test with a minimum score of 27 OR SAT I test with minimum scores as follows: Post March 2016: 1290 (with a minimum of 620 in Mathematics, and 650 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section). Pre-March 2016: 1800 (600 in Critical Reading, 600 Writing and 600 Mathematics). PLUS: Two Advanced Placement (AP) tests at Grades 5,4 or two SAT II subject tests at 650, 600 or above; OR three Advanced Placement (AP) tests minimum Grades 4,4,4 or three SAT II subject tests at 600 or above. A combination of AP and SAT subject tests are acceptable provided they are in different subjects. If A-level Mathematics is a course requirement, Advanced Placement Calculus (AB or BC) at grade 4 of higher is required. Applicants who have successfully completed an Associate Degree with an overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 awarded by a recognised US institution will be considered for admission to Stage 1 of an undergraduate degree programme. Any subject requirements must be met. Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). Minimum English Langauge requirements - 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in all four elements of the test. Please refer the university website for details of the English Language requirements for entry to individual undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
