What will I learn?

Overview

This full-time course will provide you with a sound knowledge and understanding of the chemical sciences. You will develop a wide range of practical skills including wet chemistry, HPLC, GC-MS and infra-red spectroscopy. You will be assessed through practical laboratory work, coursework and written examinations. Your learning will be supported by tutorial-style teaching and will require a commitment to independent study. A minimum attendance of
80 % is expected on all aspects of the course. Please note this course includes a mandatory work placement which takes place during June – August.

How will I be assessed?

Students who successfully complete the Foundation Degree with an overall weighted mark of 55% and in addition, at least 55% in each module assessed in final year will be eligible to progress to select degree programmes in the School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering Science at Queen’s University Belfast.
