What will I learn?

This course is designed to produce graduates who can take charge of mental health service provision at a global level. The MSc in Global Mental Health is unique to Scotland and one of only two in the UK. During this course, students will develop the capacity to think critically about the potential risks of globalising notions of mental illness. Students will gain the skills to develop and implement policies aimed at reducing the burden of mental health difficulties worldwide. The MSc Global Mental Health programme will help you develop the knowledge to integrate your initiatives into the wider aims of international development, and address the global inequities in the provision of mental health services.

Graduates of the MSc Global Mental Health programme establish careers in national mental health policy and planning, epidemiological and mental health services research, as well as advisory and advocacy roles in governments, international agencies and non-governmental organisations.
