What will I learn?

COURSE INFORMATION

Media and Communications Industries reflect and influence society and the world around us. This course is for people passionate about opportunities to influence others via the creation of media content. Writer? Blogger? Vlogger? Podcaster? Got your own stories to tell, news to share, or opinions to discuss? Want to join the debate or lead it? This course gives you the creative production skills to get your own or your employer’s messages to a wider audience effectively.

Whether it’s researching and writing copy for print and/or digital distribution, or creating content for multi-platform destinations such as radio, internet, or broadcast, you will learn and develop a broad range of skills that are essential to the communication industries and the wider world of work in the creative economy.

You’ll work in small production teams in specific roles where teamwork and problem solving are crucial to achieving the high production values required. In the fast-paced communication industries you will be expected to be able to multi-task and perform in multiple roles. Successful students completing this course will be awarded HNC: Creative Industries: Media and Communication.

You will be assessed by a combination of practical projects and written work. There will be screenings, guest lecturers, and seminars. Bring your curiosity, ideas and creativity; we’ll add skills, expertise and opportunities to develop your talents further.
