What will I learn?

Overview

Our International Business and Management Master's programme gives you the skills you need to unlock a wide range of global management opportunities. The programme is grounded in the main concepts and theories that focus on key elements of contemporary international business and views from a strategic perspective.

The aim is to produce fully rounded managers by combining international business and management with a detailed treatment of other subjects concerned with the management of organisations. Throughout this programme, you will have opportunities to develop research and analytical skills, real-life problem-solving capacities, and the personal and interpersonal skills needed to succeed. This programme will appeal to those who wish to adopt a multidisciplinary approach to their studies and have an international orientation towards business and management.

The programme is aligned and supported by experienced academics associated with the International Business Marketing and Branding Research Centre. Members of this research centre have a reputation in the field and provide significant insights into key areas of international management, reflecting best practice, innovative thinking and research in international business. Furthermore, this programme is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills in business and management to enhance your utility and employability in this field. The programme cultivates the ethos of an engaging and inclusive learning community that is responsive to different learning styles and allows you to develop to your full potential.

Learning and assessment

The programme is summatively assessed by a mixture of written examinations, assessed coursework, case studies, group projects, simulation and multimedia presentations.

Assessment is integrated with learning and teaching to support and demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes for individual modules and the programme as a whole. Emphasis is placed on the feedback function of formative assessment as part of the learning, teaching and assessment strategy as a whole.

Our graduates are highly sought after for careers in management, consultancy or advanced management studies.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

For first class degree classification students need to have bachelors degree with grade value of 3.5/4.0; For 2:1 degree classification students need to have grade average value of 3.0/4.0 and for 2:2 degree classification students need to have grade average value of 2.5/4.0 are considered. You will need to achieve an Overall Band score of at least 6.0*, with at least 5.0 in each of the four sub-tests (speaking, listening, reading, writing) or 5.5 in each of the sub-tests if you require a Tier 4 visa.

For international students

You must have a degree (not necessarily in business and management) from an approved university. The usual entry requirement is: a UK 2:2 degree or its equivalent in any discipline from an approved higher education institution. Equivalent professional qualifications will also be eligible if supported with appropriate practical experience. Applications are welcome from students with non-standard qualifications or mature students (those over 21 years of age on entry) with significant relevant experience. If we need evidence of your proficiency in English, you will be required to achieve the following minimum scores in one of these recognised tests: IELTS: 5.5 overall, with no sub-test below 5.0, and successful completion of an additional six week , which must be completed prior to the start of the course; or IELTS: 6.0 overall, with no sub-test less than 5.5; or Internet-based TOEFL: 80 overall, with minimum scores of Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17); or PTE-A (Pearson Test of English-Academic): 55 overall, with no sub-test less than 51. Candidates who are not citizens of the European Union will also be subject to further requirements imposed by the government for the issue of a student visa. Exceptionally, holders of a UK degree awarded within 2 years prior to entry to the Bradford programme may be exempt from these English test requirements.
