What will I learn?

On our LLM International Law and Human Rights programme you’ll discover the effects of globalisation on our legal and human rights. Develop your understanding of global legal frameworks along with the skills to analyse complex legal issues and evaluate legal or policy responses. Study with academic staff who are active at the forefront of international and national legal reform and development. You’ll begin your programme with an intensive, legal skills course designed to help you to familiarise yourself with the: common law system; interactions of statute and judge-made law; impact of international conventions and model laws on national law You’ll gain access to the specialist legal knowledge and practical know-how that will be essential for your professional life, from academics working at the cutting edge of research and scholarship. Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students need to have a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4. UK 1st degree equivalent: GPA 3.6 out of 4.0, UK 2.1 degree equivalent: GPA 3.2 out of 4.0; GPA 3.0 depending on awarding institution. IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.5 in reading and writing, 6.0 in listening and speaking.

For international students

You’ll need a 2.1 degree in a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or at least 4 law modules in a bachelor’s degree. Students need an overall IELTS score of 7.0 and the following scores for reading: 6.0, writing: 6.0, listening: 6.5 and speaking: 6.5. TOEFL IBT: 100.
