MA Creative Direction for Fashion is an intensive one-year course designed for creatives and fashion image-makers seeking to refine and innovate their existing practice. It offers a platform for critical enquiry and bold experimentation, encouraging you to challenge how fashion is communicated, curated and consumed across visual and experiential contexts. Creative Directors are instrumental in shaping the visual language of brands and clients, translating ideas into compelling outputs such as PR events, exhibitions and brand activations. Concepts for these outcomes are grounded in strong contextual and theoretical frameworks, enabling students to explore the cultural, social and political dimensions of fashion while developing ambitious, forward-facing communication creative strategies. You will engage directly with industry professionals across brand, image-making and communication roles, gaining practical insight while developing your own distinctive approach to creative direction. The course emphasises leadership, collaboration and critical thinking as key to responding to the demands of a constantly evolving industry. The course welcomes creatives wishing to delve deeper into their interest in visual culture and its role in shaping contemporary fashion. It is also open to individuals from a wide range of creative backgrounds, including fashion design, fashion communication, textiles, fashion business, photography, graphic design, film, media and related disciplines.
