What will I learn?

Our MA Diplomacy course provides academic training for prospective and practising diplomats, civil servants, staff of NGOs or academics.

You will benefit from practitioners who contribute valuable insight into current challenges and processes, as you combine the theory and practice of contemporary diplomacy.

Over the course of the programme you will develop transferable skills, including research, policy making, and interpersonal skills and will complete a specialist research dissertation in consultation with an expert supervisor.

Collaborate with academics who have personal experience of public policy, government departments and international organisations (including NATO), or working as advisers to government (including in the UK, the US, France, Italy and Germany).

You will benefit from the high level of our research, which has been recognised worldwide by visiting professorships at leading universities. 80% of our research impact was rated world leading or internationally excellent in the latest Research Excellence Framework (2014).
