Entry requirements

For students from United States

For a postgraduate taught course such as a Masters, you would normally need a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution. Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree, however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees. Actual requirements will vary by course. A score of 3.2 out of 4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2.1; A score of 2.8 out of 4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2.2. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability.

For international students

Undergraduate degree: 2:1 or equivalent in a relevant subject. We are willing to consider your application if you have lower qualifications, especially if you have high marks in relevant modules and/or appropriate professional experience. If you are applying with a lower qualification, you must include a written work sample with your application. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, minimum 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in all other components, TOEFL 87, minimum 23 in Writing and 21 in all other components.
