What will I learn?

The Foundation Degree in Manufacturing Engineering is designed to offer flexible learning patterns and enable apprentices or students with a relevant Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Engineering subject, or equivalent, to obtain a FdEng in Manufacturing Engineering. If desired, or as required for the Level 6 Apprentice Standard, you can then progress to a BEng(Hons) top-up programme in Manufacturing Engineering and practice in a career as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). The programme has been developed by Oxford Brookes University to answer the needs of industry which has experienced an increasing demand for employees with the right vocational knowledge and skills and with the independence to add value to organisations. Graduates from the programme will have a wider and deeper range of skills and knowledge than their contemporaries on more traditional courses that will help them progress and add value in the workplace or help you to continue your studies to a higher-level degree course.
