What will I learn?

Study a modern language, and explore how language lies at the heart of human life and society, with our BA Modern Languages and English Language degree.Study one of our four core languages – French, German, Italian or Spanish – alongside your studies in international relations. Develop your skills as a versatile linguist through speaking, listening, writing, learning grammar, and translating – with the aim of becoming fluent in your chosen language. Students also have the opportunity to pick up one of our additional languages– Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Modern Greek and Russian.Deepen your knowledge of grammar, phonetics and discourse analysis to become a highly-skilled user and analyst of the English language. A level Biology and one other science at grade B. Acceptable Science subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths, Statistics, Psychology, Geography, Environmental Studies, Applied Science, Geology.
