What will I learn?

This course addresses the broad field of advanced composites, specifically the manufacturing and characterization of composites and engineering design. New aircraft and other challenging engineering applications are becoming increasingly dependent upon the unique capabilities of high performance composite materials. It will appeal to graduates of engineering, materials science, physics or chemistry. You will develop an outstanding knowledge of composite technology, allowing you to take up specialist roles in industry and research. The programme has been designed to provide a breadth and depth of knowledge of composite materials that will be of relevance to a wide range of companies who use these materials.

Many of the research projects and literature review topics proposed to students are from industry contacts. Graduates of this MSc are in high demand and possess the skills necessary for leading roles in design, research, development and manufacturing. Entry requirements

For students from United States

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree. The minimum requirement is based on the university's selectivity ranking; from the most competitive we look for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3/4 to 3.25/4 or better. From other mainstream universities we look for a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4 or better. Departments may require a higher grade from particular institutions.

For international students

Students need to have a minimum requirement of 2.1 degree in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or chemistry. All candidates must demonstrate a minimum level of English language proficiency for admission to the College. Standard IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in all elements). Students should have TOEFL scores 92 overall (minimum 20 in all elements).
