What will I learn?

Develop a highly valued set of quantitative, theoretical and analytical competencies required to make key health and healthcare decisions. This course presents you with an ideal career pathway into health economics jobs in public and private sectors in both developed and developing countries. You will benefit from the Health Economics and Policy MSc by gaining and developing practical new skills and critical knowledge that directly relates to the workplace.Our department hosts the City Health Economics Centre (CHEC) and the London Health Economics Group (LHEG). Your studies will benefit from the output of both.Your analytical and modelling abilities will grow alongside an understanding of microeconomics principles applied to health and healthcare.We aim to ensure that you graduate with full confidence in your abilities as a health economist and how they provide real value to employers.

Entry requirements

For international students

Those with a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance or Mathematics will be considered for entry onto the Dissertation pathway. Those with a lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science or a Natural Science will be considered for entry to either the Dissertation or Literature Review/Company Project pathway, depending on the level of mathematics or microeconomics in their degree and/or high school studies. Those with a lower second class (2.2) (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in other subjects will be considered for entry on a case-by-case basis. Admission to the Dissertation or Literature Review/Company Project pathway will depend on the level of mathematics or microeconomics in their degree and/or high school studies.
