Entry requirements

For students from United States

The following qualifications will be considered for entry on to postgraduate taught programmes: a first degree or professional qualification recognised as being equivalent to degree standard; an HND or higher education diploma with substantial work experience in an appropriate field; successful completion of a recognised pre-Masters course. The following qualifications will be considered for entry on to postgraduate research programmes (MPhil/PhD): Masters Degree from a recognised university. IELTS for UKVI 6.0; Listening: minimum level 5.5; Speaking: minimum level 5.5; Reading: minimum level 5.5; Writing: minimum level 5.5.

For international students

Students need to have an honours degree or equivalent professional qualifications. In exceptional circumstances candidates without formal qualifications who demonstrate the necessary experience, intellect and motivation may be considered. Overseas students from countries whose first language is not English must normally produce evidence of competence in English. The standard for non-native speakers of English is as follows: an IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills (or equivalent) for the full-time route; an IELTS score 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all skills for the work experience route.
