Who is this programme aimed at?
This degree is for dentists wishing to train as specialists in Orthodontics.
The DClinDent in Orthodontics is a three-year, full-time programme which enables you to develop, consolidate and enhance your range of academic and clinical competencies.
The programme will enable independent and reflective practice at the standard of a specialist in orthodontics.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the DClinDent, you will be able to demonstrate the following: diagnose anomalies of the dentition; detect deviations in the development of the dentition, of facial growth and the possession of functional abnormalities; evaluate the need for orthodontic treatment; formulate a treatment plan and predict its course; carry out interceptive orthodontic measures.
Career opportunities
Examples of career paths chosen by our past graduates include: specialist practice (in the UK and overseas); working as a speciality dentist, specialist or consultant in secondary care.; programme directors; lecturers; other roles within dental school infrastructure.
