What will I learn?

The PGCE (Non QTS) is for practising teachers who have gained Qualified Teacher Status and who now wish to gain the internationally recognised academic award of a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

Ideal for teachers with Qualified Teacher Status who are seeking academically-driven professional development and international teaching recognition.

In studying the PGCE (non-QTS) you will progress your engagement with evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning; you will draw your professional expertise to interrogate the conceptual ties between theory and practice, and you will initiate pedagogical research which will benefit pupils in your classroom. This academic qualification is concerned with practical professional development.

The course is run over one academic year; it is made up of two Masters modules and teaching takes place on weekends and in the evening. It is designed to be completed alongside your work as a teacher.

For students from United States

Bachelor degree from a recognised US higher education institution. 2:1 equivalent - US degree (grade point average, 4.0): 3.0. All of our postgraduate degrees require 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any section.
