What will I learn?

OVERVIEW

The PhD by Professional Practice is designed for candidates who are established professionals and creatives engaged in professional practice in any discipline. Where the candidate has a complete portfolio of publications, the PhD by Professional Practice lasts 2 years full time or 4 years part time.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course is research based. You will independently conduct research into your own topic or a topic that we advertise. Your supervisory team will offer expert guidance throughout your studies and review work in progress. Each year, you will follow a programme of training and development to enhance your research methods, subject-matter expertise and professional skills..

Tuition fees
£16,500.00 (US$ 22,710) per year
Annual tuition fees for each academic year must be paid in full at the start of each year. Fees are subject to an annual revision in line with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) indicative rate. Some research projects will be subject to additional project costs.

Entry requirements

For international students

You should, as a minimum, have a first or 2.1 honours degree or an equivalent qualification. International students will be required to demonstrate a sufficiently high standard of English language ability. In order to enter most postgraduate courses the English requirements are: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 575, TOEFL computer-based 230. Please note some programmes may have higher English language requirements.
