What will I learn?

You should ensure that you have a realistic plan to secure sufficient funding to complete the research and writing-up process within the normal time period. This is usually three to four years for full-time programmes, and six to seven years for part-time programmes.

Entry requirements

For international students

Candidates for the PhD programmes in Mathematics or Statistics should normally have a first or good upper second-class honours BSc in mathematics or statistics, or a more advanced qualification such as MSci, MMath, or MSc. IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall including 6.0 in Writing, and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking, TOEFL: 92 overall including 21 in Writing, 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.
