What will I learn?

On this BA Philosophy degree you'll explore some of our biggest questions and concepts, like morality, existence and god. You'll study global philosophical history and literature, and learn about the major philosophers through time. A placement year abroad will let you experience a new culture and view philosophy from a new perspective. You'll choose a partner university at a placement in Europe, Asia, Australasia or North America.This course combines a thorough exploration of philosophy with a year studying abroad. You'll learn how to argue and debate and explore questions in core areas, such as- ethics,epistemology,metaphysics,philosophy of mind,political philosophy.

Entry requirements

For international students

A-levels: ABB including an essay writing subject*. International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass with 32 points overall including 16 at Higher Level, with 5 in an essay writing subject* (*includes History, English Language and Literature, English Language or Drama and Theatre Studies). RQF/QCF BTEC: Distinction, Distinction in the National/Extended Diploma plus B in essay writing A-level*; or Distinction in the National Extended/Subsidiary Certificate plus AB including essay writing A-level*. GCSE requirements: English language (or English) and mathematics at minimum grade 4/C.
