Career prospects

There is currently a demographic bulge in the primary age population so career prospects for trained primary teachers are currently excellent. By completing placements in a variety of local primary schools, you will build excellent relationships with head teachers helping your future employment prospects.

Professional Accreditation

This course is accredited by the Teaching Regulation Agency to grant Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK. You will be provisionally registered with the Teaching Regulation Agency at the beginning of your course. Students who successfully complete the course will be recommended for QTS.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

A four year bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 2.7. Bachelor degree requirement: 2.1 (for direct entry) with GPA 3.2; 2.2 (for direct entry) with GPA 2.7; Pass guide (for a pre-master's course) with GPA 2.0. IELTS 6.0-7.0 overall with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking (see individual course details).

For international students

GCSEs or equivalents: achieve a standard of grade 4 or higher in English, Mathematics and Science (Science with Chemistry, Science with Physics, Science with Biology). A recognised UK degree, or degree equivalent, normally at second class honours; Additional DBS and Health teaching checks are completed prior to your enrolment. IELTS Level - 6.0-7.0 overall with 6.0 in reading and writing, 5.5 in listening and speaking.
