What will I learn?

MBA with Placement is a taught course which incorporates a 12-month work placement, facilitated by the University.

During your studies, you will have the opportunity to apply to undertake a placement to utilise and demonstrate your skills and knowledge in a work environment.

Our dedicated faculty placements team is well-connected with regional and national employers and each year assists students in applying for roles in areas including marketing, human resources, finance, operations and supply-chain positions.

Securing a work placement is a competitive process and we will help you with the selection process from application to interview.

The University will support your efforts in securing a placement or work experience. Our students have secured placements with companies including: Nissan, Caterpillar, Fujitsu, Network Rail and White Lodging Services, as well as small entrepreneurial firms in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. If you are unsuccessful in securing a placement, you will be able to transfer to the 24-month taught route.

Career ready

An MBA is a challenging qualification which requires significant dedication. Employers recognise its worth, and the value that an MBA-qualified business leader can bring to their organisation.

While you are studying for this course, you will be an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This gives you access to the CMI's support resources and networking opportunities. If you have three or more years' management experience when you graduate, you will be entitled to apply for full membership of the CMI or Chartered status.
