**Why study this course?**Retail Design BA (Hons) will prepare you for working in the exciting and expanding field of retail design. The way people choose their purchases is changing rapidly and manufacturers and retailers need the help of professional retail designers to make their offer attractive in the marketplace.**More about this course**You'll study and learn how to shape the experience of the retail consumer, so that shopping itself becomes part of the product they are considering and buying. Retail design is a hybrid field, you'll engage with spatial design, visual communication, branding and experience design. You will learn how to stay one step ahead of the market as you plan and design for the future as much as the present. Understanding how consumers think and behave will be as important as understanding the qualities of brands and products that attract them.Our passionate tutors have industry connections, giving you the chance to gain first-hand experience of the challenges retail designers face, embedded in the vibrant world of London’s commerce. You'll engage in live projects for real-world clients, competitions and placements to ensure that your understanding of the sector, and how your interests and talents match the opportunities available, is accurate and up to date.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

High School Diploma with B in relevant subjects and a Cumulative Grade Point Average of B (3.0) and one of the qualifications below: SAT 1 with 600+ in the maths, critical reading and writing. Sat scores range from 200-800; ACT (American College Test) instead of SAT 1 with composite score value of 25; Advanced Placement Tests 3 passes with grade 3 and above (4 or 5) in relevant subjects; GED (General Education Development Programme) with minimum score of 410 in each of five tests (max score 800, min pass grade 200). Students who fall slightly below the standard requirements for an undergraduate course may be considered for an available or appropriate extended degree programme. Academic IELTS Overall score required: 6.0. Component scores required: Listening: 5.5; Reading: 5.5; Writing: 5.5; Speaking: 5.5.
