What will I learn?

Join the next generation of network engineers. You will be able to pursue a career shaping and defining the new generation of converged networks, responding to the rapid developments in telecommunication systems, such as social networking, seamless mobility, mobile data and the proliferation of applications for mobile and handheld devices.

  • Gain a background in the fundamental science, mathematics and key technologies that underpin global networking
  • Study with international experts in the fields of converged all-IP networks with particular knowledge in modelling, measurements and QoE, in middleware and in wireless networking
  • Work with the most up-to-date technologies - each topic is backed up by our world-leading research centres and groups
  • Fulfil the educational requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer, accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
  • You can choose to study this programme with an additional year of Industrial Experience to augment your practical skills

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students should have a Bachelors Degree. IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall including 6.0 in Writing, and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking. 

For international students

Students need to have a 2:1 or above at undergraduate level in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. Good 2:2 degrees are considered on an individual basis. IELTS: 6.5 overall including 6.0 in Writing, and 5.5 in Reading, Listening and Speaking. TOEFL: 92 overall including 21 in Writing, 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening and 20 in Speaking.
