What will I learn?

The Agricultural Technology Program is a 2 year program and offers a concentrated academic experience for individuals pursuing an associates of agriculture in preparation for careers in the agricultural and green industries. Students can specialize in either Applied Agricultural Management or Landscape and Turf Management. Areas of emphasis under the Applied Agricultural Management option include agribusiness management, livestock production, and crop production. The areas of emphasis under Landscape and Turf Management include golf / sports turf management and landscaping.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

The admissions committee considers applicants with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale); however, most competitive applicants will present a GPA of 2.5 or better.

For international students

The admissions policy requires graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the GED. The admissions committee considers applicants with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale); however, most competitive applicants will present a GPA of 2.5 or better.

English Language Requirements:

Students taking the IELTS must obtain a score of at least 6.5, with no sub-score below 6.5 to be considered for admission to Virginia Tech. Students taking the PTE must obtain a score of at least 53. Depending on the type of TOEFL used, Virginia Tech expects students to have scores of: Internet-based test: at least 80, with no section sub-score less than 16; Computer-based test: at least 233; Paper-based test: at least 550.
