The Bachelor of Arts in Art History emphasizes art history, theory and appreciation, and is particularly recommended for students who wish to pursue graduate studies in art history or museum studies. The Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Fine Arts programs provide comprehensive learning environments that contribute conceptually and technically to the development of the art historian, visual artist and art educator. Specifically, the programs provide opportunities for students to: develop a knowledge and understanding of fundamental visual experiences and concepts basic to many forms and fields of art develop a critical appreciation of historical and contemporary art forms as they relate to individual and social needs and values demonstrate the ability to creatively express personal comprehension and thought with visual skill and clarity develop awareness and abilities necessary to pursue graduate studies in visual arts and demonstrate an understanding and expertise applicable to professional practices in the arts.
