What will I learn?

Clermont College offers a Pre-Health Sciences track in Occupational Therapy. This track provides students with an Associates Degree program that is specifically designed for students to transition to the Health Sciences Pre-Physical Therapy major within the College of Allied Health Sciences at the UC Clifton campus.

This associates degree program provides students with a comprehensive background in the basic sciences which is then combined with applied studies in exercise physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, sports and wellness puts most graduates in a position to be competitive graduate school candidates.

Career

The most common career path for students in the Pre-Health Sciences – Physical Therapy track is becoming a physical therapist. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for physical therapist is expected to grow 22% by 2028 (much faster than the national average) and the current median pay is $89,440 per year.

Physical therapists work with people across the lifespans and generally work in: Private offices and clinics; Hospitals; Home care; Nursing and rehabilitation facilities; Military and more.

If you decide not to pursue a physical therapy degree, you will be prepared for a variety of other graduate programs, certifications and employment opportunities.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study. Prerequisites: High school chemistry and biology with a grade of "C" or better; Placement into English Composition I and College Algebra I on the UC Blue Ash College placement test; Students lacking these required prerequisites may take equivalent courses at UC Blue Ash College.

For international students

English test score requirements: ELS - 112 Graduation; IELTS - 6.0 Overall minimum of 5.5 on each section; PTE – 46; TOEFL - 66 iBT minimum of 15 on each section; Duolingo – 95; Cambridge - 169 minimum, Recommended exam: C1 Advanced.
