What will I learn?

The Business Administration: Emphasis in Entrepreneurship Program at Santa Barbara City College is designed to provide the student with the facts, skills and concepts necessary to become successful in small to mid-sized organizations. Topics covered include management, ownership, marketing, legal environment, finance, accounting and computer applications. Students interested in transferring to four-year institutions should meet with a counselor for transfer information.

Careers in Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship prepares a student to become a small business manager and/or entrepreneur. It may also lead toward a career in management with a large firm. In addition, the program provides existing managers with new insights and training.

Learning Outcomes

  • Access and interpret information (legal, financial, operational, market) necessary to develop a new business venture.
  • Assess the risks associated with developing a new business venture.
  • Develop a market ready business plan.

Students must be 18 years or older by the time of arrival at SBCC.

Students are required to have a high school graduation with the equivalent of a GPA of 2.0 or better.
