What will I learn?

Theatre is a transfer program housed in the Communication Arts, Fine Arts and Humanities division. Transfer programs are for students who plan to continue their education at a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor?s degree. Some students take theatre courses to fulfill the fine arts requirement for a transfer degree; others take theatre courses as part of a plan to major in theatre. Many students also take theatre courses as electives.

Careers in Theatre

Theatre graduates enter careers that include acting, directing, design, arts administration, stage management, teaching and technical theatre support. Professional opportunities are available in live stage productions as well as in television and film.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students under age 18 or who are currently attending high school must submit the Secondary School. English language requirements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Computer-based test: Score of 197 or above, Paper based test: Score of 527 or above, or Internet-based score of 71 or above. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Format: score of 6.0 or above. ELS Language Centers and ELS Educational Services, Academic Report: completing Level 112.

For international students

Student must be at least 17 years old. They must have Official English-translated diploma or certificate to show proof of successful completion of high school; or secondary exam certificate results.

Other English language requirements:

  • a minimum TOEFL score of 527 on the Paper Based Test, 197 on the Computer Based Test, 71 on the Internet Based Test
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Format: score of 6.0 or above
