What will I learn?

Valencia’s Education transfer plans and the Educator Preparation Institute will give you the foundation to become a teacher in Florida. You’ll become familiar with the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices, Sunshine State Standards and the Professional Educator Competencies. Plus, through field-based experiences and internships, you’ll get a chance to see what it’s like in front of the classroom too.

Secondary Education Degree Pathways

Degree pathways are designed for the student who plans to transfer to a Florida public university as a junior to complete a Bachelor’s degree after completing an Associate in Arts degree at Valencia. Students who plan to transfer to a limited-access program are responsible for completing the specific requirements of the institution to which they will transfer as completion of this degree pathway does not guarantee admission to an upper division limited-access program.

These degree pathways include the Common Program Prerequisites (CPPs) which are required for transfer to a Secondary Education major at the University of Central Florida and/or any Florida public institution. Please note the CPPs for the appropriate Secondary Education discipline below.
