What will I learn?

The Associate in Arts in Philosophy for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare the student for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education and is specifically intended to satisfy the lower division requirements for the Baccalaureate Degree in Philosophy at a California State University. The knowledge and skills offered in this degree lead students to develop foundational knowledge in the field of philosophy including those topics and issues related to global, national, and local aspects of the field of study.

Program Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to identify and evaluate arguments. Students will be able to recognize the importance of reasoning in seeking truth. Students will be able to articulate and distinguish competing theories and perspectives.

Entry requirements

For international students

High School transcripts and Diploma; minimum of 2.0 or ""C"" grade point average, if transferring directly from a U.S.-based College or University.

Students under 18 years of age may apply, but must submit final transcripts showing secondary/high school completion before the first term of enrollment.

  • Proof of the appropriate Level Completion from one of our partner ESL Programs

Application Deadline: July 10 for Fall Semester; November 30 for Spring Semester and May 15 for the Summer Session.
