Students benefit from small classes taught by teacher-scholars who are recognized experts in their field.

The new multi-million-dollar Bayh College of Education facility features high-tech classrooms, a 475-seat auditorium, and comprehensive clinic.

Students participate in numerous semesters of field experiences, beginning with the first professional education course and continuing throughout the program. Field experiences include rural, suburban, and urban schools.

Professional development opportunities include experiences in the University's Early Childhood Education Center as well as the Professional Development Schools Program, a collaborative effort between the University and five area school districts. Students also may volunteer with the Sycamore Readers Tutoring Program as well as other community agencies.

A number of activities and organizations are available that enable students to interact with other students and professionals in education. These include the Indiana Student Education Association, the Student Council for Exceptional Children, and Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education.
