What will I learn?

The BA/MA program in astrophysics & space physics is designed for those well-prepared students who wish to obtain a master’s degree by adding a fifth year of intensive study in astrophysics & space physics. The program is offered by the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) in conjunction with the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS).For information on application requirements and deadlines, please see the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences’ BA/MA and BA/MS Program Application website. Only those students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 overall and 3.3 in mathematics, physics, and astronomy courses will normally be admitted.Learning OutcomesThe learning outcomes include those for both the BA in Astronomy & Physics and the MA in Astronomy.

Entry requirements

For international students

Apply as a first-year student if you are currently in your last year of high school, have completed high school, are a GED recipient, or have completed a high school equivalency exam. If you are currently in high school and are part of a dual enrollment program, you should also apply as a first-year student.

English Proficiency Testing Results:

Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based Test (TOEFL iBT): Students who are most competitive for admission will have a composite score of at least 90-100 and minimum scores of 20 in each section.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS): A total/overall score of 7 or higher

Duolingo English Test (DET): Students who are most competitive for admission will have a total score of at least 125-135.
