What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Applied Science with an emphasis in Network Operations prepares graduates for careers in Network Operations, Information Assurance, Network Security, Network and System Administration, Network Engineering and other IT related fields. The degree serves students who have earned an Applied Associates Degree, or those who have working experience in a related field. The Network Operations curriculum consists of hands on labs and skills in modern networking architectures, advanced routing, cloud computing, network defense and wireless networking and security.


- Implement and understand network topologies; Communicate, design and apply traditional network topologies including modern networking topologies, such as Cloud environments and other software defined networking and security concepts.

- Create a diverse networking environment; Demonstrate and implement a diverse networking environment including, multiple operating systems, system software, network services, network security and network protocols.

- Analyze and troubleshoot network traffic and implement modern networking techniques; Describe, analyze and troubleshoot network traffic, including hardware and software components of computer networks.

- Analyze and implement computer security and defense concepts; Analyze and implement security concepts, confidentiality, availability and integrity within the context of network systems as well as other network security standards.

- Work professionally, ethically and effectively within diverse groups

The Network Operations program is designed for students transferring approximately 60 units from a regionally accredited institution. The program requires additional materials during the application process. The minimum entrance requirements include:

Recommended: Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Network Technology, Systems Administration, or related field

International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:

TOEFL iBT - 70

IELTS - 6.0

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - 53

IB (English A – Higher Level) - 5 or higher

Cambridge English Scale (C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) - 169

Cambridge GCSE, O Level or higher (English) - C or higher
