Ball State’s major in geology prepares you for geological careers in industry and government agencies and for graduate study that leads to research, teaching, management, and many other positions in industry, government, and universities. Our bachelor’s degree equips you for a variety of roles, including geologist, ground water hydrogeologist, professional consultant, teacher, professor, engineering geologist, resource manager, environmental scientist, petroleum geologist, and GIS mapping specialist.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students should apply as a freshman undergraduate student if:

Students have completed or will complete high school or secondary school before the semester you apply to start

Students have not attended a university, college, or other postsecondary institution

Students wish to earn a bachelors degree

Required Scores to demonstrate English Proficiency: TOEFL iBT 79; IELTS 6.5 Band; Pearson's PTE 53

Dates and Deadlines - International Admissions must receive all your application materials by these dates for consideration for a specific term

Fall Term - application materials due by June 15th

Spring Term - application materials due by November 15th

Priority application date for fall enrollment: March 1; priority application date for spring enrollment: December 1.
