What will I learn?

Liberal Studies is an interdisciplinary program of 120 credits. This degree allows for students to create their own program by having the option of choosing 2-3 concentration areas to focus on. Students have the flexibility to pursue their degree on a full time or part time basis. There are also two modalities, on campus for students who want to design their own baccalaureate degree path, or online which is specifically geared towards working professionals who have completed a minimum of one year of transfer credits. The potential to apply Prior Learning credits towards their degree makes Liberal Studies a particularly appealing program for non-traditional students with professional work experience. Up to 36 Experiential Learning credits may be applied toward the degree. Students interested in applying such credits take INT 196B Prior Learning Assessment (2 credits) as part of their Open Elective credits. When choosing a concentration, the student works closely with an adviser in order to construct a meaningful and coherent educational experience. Students can customize their academic plan to align with their career goals.

Entry requirements

For international students

All first-year students who apply to Pace University must submit an official high school transcript in English. When evaluating your application for undergraduate admission, we are interested in understanding how you challenged yourself relative to the curriculum that was available at your school and the trends in your performance—especially your grades in math, science, English and coursework related to your intended major.

We also consider the GPA (Grade Point Average) that is indicated on your high school transcript. We generally look for students in the top 50% of their class. For schools that don't use a ranking system, we consider a 2.5 GPA or higher to be the equivalent. Finally, the Office of International Admissions conducts a holistic review of each application that includes a careful review of the following documents; letters of recommendation, personal statement / essay, and extracurricular activities.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
