The Lamar University Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics is designed to include a large level of flexibility to serve you in a variety of areas in mathematics and statistics: pure math, computational math, applied math and statistics.

Why Study Mathematics at Lamar?

The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics at Lamar University offers two concentrations. The General track is best suited for someone who likes mathematics and wants a degree in the field but is perhaps simultaneously studying another discipline. This track requires a minor. The Mathematics Education track is best suited for you if you are preparing to teach mathematics at the secondary level in public or private schools. Highly coordinated with the College of Education, this track concludes with student teaching and teaching certification.
