Bachelor of Arts in Sociology

USA

What will I learn?

Sociology majors at Lewis University study social life, social change and diverse communities and their interactions. You will use scientific methods to find answers to complex social questions. Studying sociology can help foster your creativity, innovation, as well as your critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. You will participate in thoughtful debates in the classroom and have opportunities for community engagement and research outside the classroom.

Sociology majors use their studies in order to transform the social world. By developing an understanding of race, gender, social class, social inequalities, culture, economic and political systems, social policies, the legal and criminal justice systems, media, education, and families, you will be equipped with the tools needed to make sense of the shifting social world and contribute solutions to difficult social problems.

Your studies are uniquely suited to help you develop the skills you need for a successful 21st-century career. Given the breadth, adaptability, and utility of studying sociology, employment opportunities abound for graduates who have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
