It is though the discerning eye of the photographer and videographer that the world and all of its beauty and wonder, news, and information, is brought into our lives. As Dorothea Lange said “The world is potentially full of good photographs. But to be good, photographs have to be full of the world.” It is this maxim that drives photographers’ curiosity, inspires their creativity, and informs their work.
Photography students explore a full range of still- and time-based imaging tools, materials, and concepts as a means of personal expression and professional application. There are no limits in this expanding media-rich environment, which includes traditional and digital imaging, audio and video media, and super-8 and 16mm film production.
Our students continually garner local and national attention, from exhibiting and publish their work to winning awards in local, regional, and national competitions. Our alumni are also actively engaged as professional photographers and videographers with many owning their own businesses and some traveling the world.
